Terms of Service
Draft: these terms are written from how the app works today and have not been reviewed by a lawyer. Parts marked in yellow are not decided yet.
1. About these terms
These terms are the rules for using BiteeNextDoor, a free app (a web app you can install on your phone, and later store apps) at biteenextdoor.app. It is run by BiteeNextDoor. Contact: ch.alizain3222@gmail.com.
By signing in or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What BiteeNextDoor is, and is not
BiteeNextDoor connects home cooks with buyers in their neighbourhood in Pakistan. We are a platform only.
- We are not the seller of any food. Each order is between the buyer and the cook.
- We do not take payments for food. Buyers pay cooks directly (cash, Easypaisa, JazzCash, bank or Raast).
- We do not deliver food. The cook delivers, or the buyer collects.
- We take no percentage commission on orders. Cooks pay a small flat fee in Boosts for each confirmed order (see section 7).
- Cooks are independent sellers. They are not our employees or agents.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give true information. Cooks must also give a real phone number, which we use only to prevent abuse and never show to buyers.
- One person, one account. Do not create new accounts to get around a ban or a limit.
- Minimum age: [OPEN: minimum age]. Until this is decided, the app is not intended for children.
4. Rules for cooks
- You are responsible for your food: its safety, hygiene, ingredients, allergens, quality, prices and portions.
- You are responsible for any licence, registration or tax that the law requires for selling food or for your business, for example with a provincial food authority. We do not check these. [OPEN: whether we ask for licence details]
- Keep your menu, prices, opening hours, pause status and delivery area accurate. Honour orders you confirm.
- Only add payment details (account numbers, QR codes) that belong to you. You are responsible for checking that a payment arrived before you hand over food.
- Do not pressure, threaten or mistreat buyers. Do not share a buyer's details outside the app.
5. Rules for buyers
- An order is a request to a cook. It is complete only when the cook confirms it. A cook may refuse or cancel an order.
- Pay the cook directly as agreed. If you upload a payment screenshot, it must be real and be a payment for that order.
- Collect your order or be available for delivery. Repeated no-shows can lead to limits or a ban.
- Reviews must be honest and about your own experience.
- Any dispute about food, price, quality or delivery is between you and the cook. We can help by reading reports, but we cannot refund money, because we never hold it.
6. Things nobody may do
- Break the law, including Pakistani law, or post anything illegal.
- Post content that is abusive, hateful, sexual, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Pretend to be someone else, post fake orders or fake reviews, or buy or sell reviews.
- Scrape, copy or reverse engineer the app, or attack, overload or try to break into our systems.
- Use the app to send spam or to sell things other than food made by the cook.
7. Boosts
Boosts are the app's credits. Cooks use them to pay the flat fee for each confirmed order. At the moment 1 Boost equals Rs 1, and every new kitchen gets a starting number of free Boosts. We may change the rate, the fee or the free amount; the Boosts screen in the app always shows the current figures.
[OPEN: Boosts rules: whether purchased Boosts are refundable, transferable or can be turned into cash, and whether they expire]
8. Content you post
- You keep ownership of the photos, videos, text and menus you post (for example dishes, stories, posts, chat messages and reviews).
- You give us permission to store, show and share them inside the app and in links to the app, for as long as you keep them posted, so that the app can work.
- Stories, posts, menus and reviews are public. Chats are private to the people in the order.
- You promise you have the right to post what you post.
- We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
9. Reports, moderation and bans
Anyone can report a user, a review or a chat from the app. Our team may look at reports and, where needed, the related chat. If someone breaks these terms we may remove content, limit features, or ban the account and the identifiers described in the Privacy Policy so that the person cannot come back. A ban has a reason and may have an end date. [OPEN: how to appeal a ban or a removal]
10. Ads
The app is free and is paid for by ads from Google. Ads are shown to everyone. The Privacy Policy explains what Google may collect for ads. We are not responsible for the products or services in ads.
11. Food safety and our responsibility
Because we are a platform and not the seller, the cook is responsible for the food she sells. We do not prepare, inspect, store or deliver food and we do not guarantee any cook, dish, price or delivery time. The app is provided "as is", and it may sometimes be slow, wrong or unavailable.
[OPEN: limit of our liability, to be written with a lawyer]
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time. You can ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms. [OPEN: what happens to open orders and unused Boosts when an account ends]
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for big changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
14. Law
These terms follow the laws of Pakistan. [OPEN: which courts decide disputes]
